I have a few sources of inspiration when creating artwork, one being where I live. The Adirondacks is a prime location for outdoor adventure and beautiful scenery. From the mountains that surround us to the lakes plagued with fish and boats, we are at no expense for boredom, while giving plenty of opportunities for new ideas.
A couple weekends ago, my family took a popular hike within the area of Lake George up Prospect Mountain. It wasn’t unfamiliar terrain for us as we’ve climbed it a number of times before. The view at the summit stretches for miles, and on a clear day, you could see all the way to Saratoga and possibly further. It also has a nice view of the lake where you can spot people parasailing as well as hear the steamboats’ musical whistles.
Lake George also has a series of small shops and outlets that all come to life during the summer when tourists come to visit. The area hosts a number of events, such as The Americade (motorcycle rally) and The Adirondack Wine and Food Festival, that make it an exciting and fun-filled summer.
Between the outdoor adventures, wildlife, and the activities around the area, Lake George and the surrounding regions become a wonderful source of inspiration.
