The semester is coming to an end and the new year is just around the corner. 2019 has been a year of growth for me within the art community and in my personal life. This got me thinking, what better way to end the year than trying my luck and entering scholarships and art competitions.

I recently applied to the AAF NEPA Scholarship Contest. After submitting my application I began searching for other competitions to enter before the end of the year. I came across the Speedball 5th Annual New Impressions Printmaking Competition and was intrigued.

New Impressions is a competition open to undergraduate students across North America. Prizes are awarded to the students and their schools in seven printmaking categories. Each student can submit up to three entries from April 20 to December 31, 2019.

I have challenged myself to meet the deadline and submit at least one print. I don’t know what I’ll be making as of right now but stay tuned!
