Miscellaneous Summer Projects

Hi again everyone! I don’t know about anyone else, but summer is the time where I get all my random around-the-house projects done, and any small crafts I’ve been wanting to do. So to start, I thrifted two frames last fall that had built in mat boards and I’ve been holding onto them not knowing what to do with them. Finally last week I decided to take out the artwork that was in them and paint them white and make them usable again so I can frame stuff in my apartment this upcoming school year! This is what they looked like before and after. The mat boards had some stains on them so I painted them white too and it came out really good!

Then, this week I picked up a small dresser from Facebook marketplace that I am also going to use in my apartment. The original owners already painted it this nice blue color which I really liked, but I wanted to spruce it up a little bit so I picked up some decorative wallpaper to line the drawers with. I was going to line the entire inside of the drawer, including the sides, but it was really hard to measure and place down accurately so I just did the bottom part. But making sure it was straight and no bubbles was also a challenge, I can’t imagine trying to put this down on a whole wall or something bigger! Anyway, this is how the drawers came out!

Lastly for my projects this week, I also have been collecting thrifted gold frames and have not found anything to put in them until now! I had the idea to press dry some flowers that I had and then put them into this frame with the sheet music to a song that means something to me. So technically, this was a few week long process because I needed the flowers to dry but they finally did and I hope they stay preserved! I just printed out the sheet music approximately the size of the frame because it is circular, and then put the flowers at the bottom and I love how it came out! It looks sort of vintage to me and I love that vibe.

Anyway, that’s all I have for this week and I’m sure I’ll have some more random projects for next time as well! Thank you for reading!
