In last week’s post, I discussed using 35mm and 120mm film. For this week’s post, I’m going to discuss 4×5 film. We used two different kinds of 4×5 film cameras, a pinhole camera and a large format camera. I used the large format camera for my class assignment and I wanted to play around with studio lighting.

Since there is no mirror inside the camera, the image preview will be upside down and reversed. I enjoyed experimenting with the large format as it’s more mechanical than a single lens reflex camera.

There was a lot of trial and error with learning how to use the 4×5 camera. In some of the photos, they are out of focus and some were fogged a bit due to darkroom processing errors. I would definitely play around more with the large format camera and try some different compositions and subjects.
