MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is a super intriguing game that recently released on Apr 16, 2026. Developed by Fumi Games and published by PlaySide, MOUSE P.I. is a 1930s themed first-person shooter.
The game follows investigator Jack Pepper who must solve mysteries across the town of Mouseburg. Alongside the first-person shooter sections, there’s also a variety of puzzles and clues to explore.
One of the most notable aspects of the game is it’s retro-artstyle. It’s very reminiscent of Steamboat Willie, which may make sense as he was recently released into the public domain. I deeply enjoy the animation style, silly gun animations, and overall aesthetic! I think it’s so fun to see this kind of artstyle in an interactive environment. The first game that comes to mind when I think of this old artstyle is Cuphead! Which is still such an amazing marvel and I’m happy it was able to succeed.
If you’re interested in checking this game out, it’s available on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.
Since the semester is coming to an end, I recommend everyone take some time to relax, better themselves, and delve into media. It’s super important to consume and interpret media to boost your creativity and feed your mind.
Some notable films coming out soon are Mortal Kombat II (May 08), Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu (May 22), Backrooms (May 29), Super Girl (June 26), Jackass: Best and Last (June 26), The Odyssey (July 17), and Spider-Man: Brand New Day (July 31).
Have a great summer and stay safe! ~Isabelle
