As many of you know, myself and a handful of other art majors and Where Creativity Works bloggers spent our spring break in Paris, France. This was the most amazing experience of my life, I was exposed to so much culture and artwork, and I feel like I’ve learned a lot. It was surreal to be seeing all of the pieces of art and architecture that I have previously learned about in my art history courses, right in front of me. Because of my knowledge about the pieces from classes, it made me appreciate them that much more. I was apprehensive to study abroad at first (even if only for a week), but I’m so happy with my decision to do so.
While I was there, I focused on studying the compositions of famous paintings, and taking photographs of the areas around me. With that being said, I didn’t take many pictures of ceramic work while I was there- but nonetheless, I have a lot of pictures to share with you all! For the study abroad art class, we each have to submit a final gallery piece, and I am almost certainly doing a painting! I’ll keep you all updated with that piece, but for now I have some pictures to share with you guys! OH! And we have a final destination for EMPTY BOWLS 2017: 507 Linden Street in downtown Scranton, PA! The event will be on Friday May 5th! Can’t wait to see everyone there! I’ll blog more about empty bowls for next week!
