Hello everyone! I hope you all have been enjoying the nice weather, and if you’re on summer break, I hope that’s been going well. I’ve been super busy jumping around to job interviews and catching up on home life this week, but I’ve also been taking advantage of my free time. In a past post, I wrote about some projects I’d like to try. In this post, I’m going to talk about some of the craftier things I’ve been meaning to work on and have finally had time to do. Even though these aren’t super complex activities, they’re fun to pass the time and relax after the long semester.

First, I’ve been revisiting making friendship bracelets. Friendship bracelets were very popular during COVID-19, but I haven’t made any since then. I have a ridiculous amount of string left over from that time, so I decided to use some of it and make a few. I’ve been loving making them while watching a show with my mom or something like that. It’s nice to work on something passive after being super focused on art projects for school.
Next, I’ve been coloring in coloring books. Similar to the bracelets, this is a super relaxing and passive activity. I prefer the types that have bold lines and straightforward illustrations because the super detailed kind of books are too intimidating for me. It’s lovely to take the pressure off and just make things because it would be fun, not necessarily to come out of it with a masterpiece.

Lastly, I’ve been working on a finger-knit blanket that’s been hanging over my head for years. I started it when I was still in high school with the pre-looped yarn. So it’s barely knitting, but again, it’s just another fun thing to do passively. I’ve never been able to finish it because it’s supposed to be a king-sized blanket, but I’m hoping I’ll finish it before my schedule becomes super busy with work.
I’ve enjoyed letting my creative juices relax for a bit. Doing these more crafty activities gives me even more ideas for actual projects. But other than my crafts, I’ve been present at home, enjoying walks on the beach, and LOVING driving on roads that I’m familiar with, hahaha. I also plan to start my Etsy shop, which I’ll tell you about soon.
Well, I hope you all can see what I’ve been up to and take a second to work on a craft you thought would be fun. If you can’t do that, I hope you get to do something else that makes you happy this week. Have a lovely week, everyone 🙂
