Photo Shoot

This past week, I shifted my focus from production to product! Thinking about building a professional portfolio sent me into a panic-induced Amazon shopping spree, and I ordered a portable plastic light box that I convinced myself would be useful for photographing my jewelry pieces.

After the light box was delivered, I immediately set up a little photo shoot with all of my jewelry pieces from last semester, as well as some smaller plaster forms. The next day, I brought the light box to the studio and photographed some of my pieces for my thesis, this time testing out the different colored backgrounds that were included in my order.

I am definitely not a photographer nor do I pretend to be, but I’m pretty impressed with how nice the photos turned out. I would recommend that anyone looking to present their work in a more clean, polished way- especially if you need to take photos for a portfolio- invest in a light box.
