Pushing Beyond Forms

Throwing forms on the wheel has always been my best skill when it comes to ceramics. Hand-building and casting are much less my style and I have significantly more hands on time with the wheel. Because my work is almost made entirely on the wheel alone, I developed certain restrictions on my work. I have been exposed to enough artists that i know those restrictions are self-imposed and so I have been pushing boundaries and searching for new shapes and styles in the last few weeks since starting the semester in Florence.

Now that I have injected my mind with new creativity I have found that ideas fly by constantly and there is so much to do. I still start on the wheel, and rather than leaving at that I go further, starting to play with new shapes, patterns, forms, sizes and colors all at once.
