Name: Alanna Marion
Year you’ll be graduating: Class of 2024
Major: Art Therapy
I am majoring in Art because I grew up with a passion for it so it was only right for me to follow a career involving it. Art therapy was the best fit for what I wanted to do in my life.
The kinds of things that inspire me are my friends and family, other artists and their art.
My favorite class so far was Intro to Arts and Healing because it was the first actual art therapy class I took, and it made me realize that I was where I belong.
When I’m not in class I’m drawing (always), doing work, hanging out with my friends or playing video games.
The coolest thing I’ve done so far at Marywood was meet so many great people, and I’m thankful for them because they got me through my first semester.
When I graduate I want to work in the field of art therapy then eventually open my own practice.
I’d recommend the Art program at Marywood because it’s full of really wonderful people who love what they do and it never gets boring. You’re learning and doing something new every day.
The best spot to be on campus is the library. The atmosphere makes you want to never leave and you can always grab a snack or drink from Starbucks, it’s the perfect place to go when you have work to do.
