I am majoring in Art because it simply brings joy into not only my life, but the lives of others. Art has always been a way for me to express my emotions and feelings and it has inspired me to help others to do the same.

The kinds of things that inspire me are finding the calm and serene in nature. There is something about being able to replicate, on paper, the perfection that is found in nature.
My favorite class so far was Two-Dimensional design because it took me out of my comfort zone by making me create more abstract designs, instead of realistic images.
When I’m not in class you can either find me doing school work or unwinding by getting lost in my sketches
The coolest thing I’ve done so far was in my Introduction to Arts and Healing Class. I created a piece based on how art helped prisoners within concentration camps survive and tell stories about the gruesome events during the Holocaust.

When I graduate I plan to work at a Veterans Administration Hospital and provide art therapy for military members and veterans who are suffering from traumatic brain injuries and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
I’d recommend the Art program at Marywood because of how welcoming and talented all the teachers and students are. The overwhelming positivity from everyone has inspired me and taught me to expand my creativity.
