Hello everyone, I want to tell you about an exciting event coming to Marywood. The Gadabout Film Festival will be on September 26th, 6 to 8pm in the Swartz Center in room B and this event is free and open to the public.
The Gadabout Film Festival started in 2002 and this is their 16th year of operation. It started with the idea of operating like a DIY band, the goal is the be an alternative from commercialized film festivals. They started out with a van, a projector, screen and a PA and set out on the road. So far they have screened in parking lots, basements, and art venues. Each year they come up with a new program of short films.
As of right now, the film festival has received and shared films from around the world and has shown them in 45 states, 100 cites, and 12 different counties. They aim to represent honest filmmakers and they want to show that great short films can come out of low budget or no budget projects. In the picture below is a list of this years short films.
