The Holidays at Marywood

Have you heard about all of the festive holiday activities happening here at Marywood University?

Making Spirits Bright,” is Marywood’s annual celebration of the Christmas season through festive programming, community service, spiritual opportunities, and student and alumni events, which begin in December and continue through New Year’s Eve.

Starting when you first arrive at Marywood, you’re greeted with the large nativity that is around the campus arch on Adams Avenue. The nativity features large statues adorned with lights. The display is all lit up at nighttime which adds to the festive spirit on campus.

There’s also the massive Christmas tree that is placed within the Liberal Arts Center (L.A.C.) where the tree stands as tall as the second story of the L.A.C.. On Wednesday, December 6, 2025, there was the annual tree lighting ceremony where students were encouraged to gather around as the lights on the tree were turned on.

The lights on both the tree and the second floor railing helps add a different atmosphere to the L.A.C. It livens up the rotunda which fills students and teachers with the festive spirit.

There’s also a small display within the Memorial Grove where the bushes are lined with string lights.

With Holiday season and the end of the semester right around the corner, its easy to loose track of everything and get overwhelmed with work and stress. With all of the festive decorations scattered around campus, its a welcome break from the monotony of school life.

Calling All Alumni: The Marywood Alumni Association is hosting several off-campus events this December. Alumni can get more information and register for holiday events at marywood.edu/alumni/events.
