The Mahady Gallery here on Marywood’s campus is hosting its second installation of the semester, The Second Time Around: The Hubcap as Art. It all started by one man’s passion for adaptive reuse. After seeing a pile of old hubcaps at an auto show, he became inspired and shared his idea with some artist friends. Now, the collection is home to over 1,000 one-of-a-kind pieces. Take a look…
There are various artists included in this collection, and all used a number of mediums and techniques to complete their work, but it is important to keep in mind that they all include at least one hubcap!
The overall message of this show is the importance of repurposing something that has been discarded. It will be on display from November 10 – December 16, 2016. If you get a chance, stop by!
