Under a Pier

This week painting at the beach went much better than expected. I was worried about the heat and finding shade, but when I got there I found a fishing pier close to where we were staying. underneath the pier there was plenty of space to work and it was almost empty because everyone else wanted to be out in the sun.

Most of the nine little paintings did during the trip were done under the pier, except for one that I did at a lighthouse. This one was difficult because I had no shade and had decided not to carry my easel all the way there. I also had limited time because I could only work while my family climbed the lighthouse and when they were done I had to be done. This left me about thirty minutes.
