Class this week was marked by experimenting with light painting in a practical sense for the first time. Exposing in a dark room, all the light in the images was generated by using my phone’s flashlight and a soft box app, it was certainly different to be in a position where the light was almost entirely under my control; not to say that control is absent from other studio settings, but the ability to fully shape where light actually goes is definitely a little foreign. As for the other images, in a bit of a change of setting from Scranton, my family and I spent Easter Sunday at my grandparent’s home in upstate New York. The other three photos are from a more spur of the moment instance in their back yard while I was hanging out with my little sister.
