Something exciting this semester that I was able to take part in was the Zeta Omicron Art Honor Society’s fall exhibition in the Kresge Gallery, November 7 to November 18, 2016. Each fall semester the Zeta Omicron chapter of Kappa Pi curates and installs an art exhibit to celebrate every artist club member and their achievements in their medium.
This was the first time I got to be part of an installation for a gallery. Then got to show my work for a second time this semester. It was a rewarding feeling to be a part of the installation and learn the ropes and procedures taken to end up with a successful exhibition. During the exhibition reception each artist went around and explained their work and their inspirations. Getting the hear everyone talk about their work is a great way to understand and appreciate it. With how successful this exhibit looked and how wonderfully the reception went, I am already looking forward to next fall to see the artworks everyone makes. If any art students are reading this and thinking that they want to join this club, then remember Zeta Omicron when it comes time for recruitment later in the spring.
