While getting advice from teacher and professors during class time is an incredibly helpful thing. Some of the best work advice I’ve gotten is from friends my own age, when I’m just drawing and messing around at their house. If you have artistic friends, I really encourage you to do artwork with each other. Maybe not your most important projects, since that can be rather distracting, but your own fun projects. It’s always good to have another set of eyes around when you’re sketching something, and it makes drawing or whatever else you’re doing a lot more fun.
For me, I work best alone in a classroom setting, but in the end it’s super important to have people help you along the way when you’re practicing on your own.
I understand as I have no classes. Near me but tend to paint alone and am surprised when I receive encouraging words from family members
Exactly! A lot of times we can be so caught up in whatever we’re doing we don’t even notice the things that are really working (or not working) in our pieces until someone points them out.
