This weekend I had the chance to go and visit Allentown Art Museum. The exhibit I was really excited to see was Indian Sculptures: Avatars of the Hindu Gods. I personally really enjoy the really old art and sculptures; it fascinates me how detailed they were able to make everything without the equipment that we have today.
A couple of my favorites were the Parvati (Mother of the Universe), in the middle, along with Rati, on the left, and Manmatha (Kama), on the right. These sculptures are both from South India, Tamil Nadu and the center sculpture dates back to the 800s-900s while the panels on each side date back to the 1600s.
This exhibition is up until 06/02/2019 and I highly recommend seeing it along with the rest of the museum. Allentown Art Museum
