While at school this past year, I became very interested in art galleries. My interest grew as I visited the galleries on campus for several shows. As a designer, I always thought that galleries were for fine artists. But it turns out that is not the case. All kinds of visual art can go in a gallery.
I was really attracted to the shows put on by fellow students. I loved seeing shows they put together themselves. It made me want to have some of my artwork in a gallery someday as well. I eventually found out about the AFA gallery in downtown Scranton, PA. Once I found out that I could become a student member and potentially have my art in a gallery it became a goal of mine to do so. This upcoming semester I plan on becoming a student member and being in a show my sophomore year.
