Christmastime in NYC

Like I have mentioned before in other posts, when I am home for the holidays, I am only a train ride away from one of the biggest cities, NYC. Being close is awesome cause I can go into the city anytime I like, whether that be by train or by car. I love the city all year round but I would say there is nothing like seeing the city during Christmas time. The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, the ice skating, the window displays at Macy’s and Saks 5th Avenue, and much more, always amaze me.

This year I went and saw the city a few days after Christmas. The tree was beautiful as always! This year I really took a closer look at the window displays because a lot of design goes into putting those together. The window displays at Macy’s depicted two children stories, “Yes Virginia there is a Santa Claus” and “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” Both were very cute. I liked the Charlie Brown one the most because, as a kid and even till this day, every Christmas we watch that movie, and it was interesting to see how Macy’s put together the story in just a few windows.

The window displays at Saks 5th Avenue had all their products that they sell in their windows but to me it made me feel like a winter wonderland was the theme of the windows. Everything was white, accented with different shades of purple and blue. Again a lot of design elements went into putting these together and in the end I thought they looked great!

I can’t wait to see the displays for next Christmas!
