Creativity Lies In Chaos

“In the midst of chaos lies creativity” – Sun Tzu

Some people come up with their best ideas in seclusion, others, in the midst of perplexity. Me personally I prefer to work in calm mellow environment, but every now and then I notice that I produce some of my best work I when I’m unsettled. And I think it has to do with the fact that my brain is working double trying to keep up with deadlines and the creative expectations I’ve set for myself. So, I’m able to generate lots of ideas in a short amount of time.

Over the last couple weeks I’ve been working with Professor Chris Medley helping to design a small lettering mural for the 24 hour drop-in lab in the Shields Center for Visual Arts building. Not just anything fun but something that will help students overcome the stress of the creative process. This is one of the few drawings I came up with. Hopefully when she present it to the board, they’ll approve and I can get a chance to paint it and inspire others.

Here’s a video clip of my work process and a couple photos of the finished illustration.
