For my last blog of 2024, I wanted to do a little recap on the photos I took and what I learned from them. I have been doing photography for a year and I feel that I learned so much. Over the summer I made sure to continue taking photos so I brought my camera with me everywhere.
The photography classes I have taken in 2024 were…
- Color Photography ART-318 with Sue Jenkins
- Lighting and Composition ART-317A with Peter Nardone
- Photojournalism ART-320 with Aimee Dilger
I feel that I learned so much from each of these classes. They each were different and unique but together teach lifelong lessons. In color photography it helped me be more comfortable with playing around with colors in my photos. In photojournalism I learned how to be a better photojournalist which will help me in The Wood Word. Finally in Lighting and Composition I learned different lighting techniques that I can use inside and outside of the studio.
Overall I think I learned a lot in just one year and I can’t wait to learn more about photography. I’m excited for next semester as I am taking Advanced Black and White Photography ART-316 with Peter Nardone and will be taking film photos and using the darkrooms. I have never taken photos on film before so I am very excited about that.
