Environmental Portraits

Hello everyone! I hope you’ve had a great week! This past week I had to work on environmental portraits for both my Advertising and Illustration class as well as my Photojournalism class.

Since I had the same project assignment for both classes, I made sure to photograph different people for this assignment. For my Advertising and Illustration class I photographed my mom around her horses and for my Photojournalism class I planned to photograph my dad, but that didn’t work. So I used a photograph that I took of my little sister and her 4-H steer a couple weeks before school started.

I planned on taking photographs of my dad, but anything and everything that could go wrong on the farm, went wrong. And I wasn’t about to make him pose for a photograph because we are in the middle of harvesting our corn!

This photograph was taken to handout to the buyer of my little sister’s steer. To capture this picture she had to set her steer up, the way she would in the show ring, and she had to give me her best smile.

That’s all for this week! Stay Safe! Stay Healthy! I’ll talk to you all next week!
