Hi everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. This week I’m sharing some progress I’ve made on my Etsy shop and my website! Firstly, I’ve finally rebranded my Etsy from Clayworks By Jenna to Ceramics By Jenna K. I think it rolls off the tongue a bit better and also adds the initial of my last name, which makes it more memorable for customers. I also changed my logo, and I think it’s a lot better. Honestly, as I’m writing this, I’m still deciding between two colorways, but the design is solid. I’ll show you what I’m choosing between!

The teal color feels more true to my ceramics work at the moment, but I’m not sure it will in the near future. The purple feels earthy and elegant, but I’m still not completely sold on it. Maybe if I play around with the colors a bit more, I’ll have a better idea of what I want. Regardless of which color I choose, I feel a lot better now that the Etsy branding is pretty much taken care of. I know it’s not a professional logo by any means, but it works for now, and it’s super easy to change, so there’s not a lot of pressure. Hopefully in the future I can work with another artist who’s more digitally skilled because I’m definitely not!
More importantly, I finally created a website! I’ve been wanting to have a website for a while, but I never sat down to really do it. Finally, I just decided to work on it for a few days straight over the past week and got it done. I just used Google Sites, so it’s nothing crazy, but the basics work just fine for me right now. However, I did go the extra mile to buy a custom domain so the website would be easily reachable. If you’re interested, you can check it out at www.jennakingart.com.
Anyway, I think the hardest part about making the website was deciding what I wanted to include. This might’ve been easier if I’d used a template in another website-building application, but I didn’t want to commit to any sort of monthly payments, so I did what I could with the free option. I think it worked out, and the website does what I need it to do. Now all my information is in one place, and I have somewhere to direct people who are interested in my work.
Finally, I’m not sure how I haven’t mentioned it yet, but my bowls have been on the shelves in a local shop for a few weeks now. I’ve actually sold a good amount for what I was expecting! The reason I was eager to build a website in the first place was so I could make business cards that included the website. This way, when someone buys a bowl from the shop, they can actually have some information about who made it! So, I’m excited to get some business cards to the shop owner now that my website is all figured out. Here’s a peek at the display in the shop. It’s so surreal!

Well, that’s all I have for this week. I’m feeling very proud of the progress I’ve made! Now I’m going to focus on getting my pieces uploaded to my Etsy shop. I can’t wait to get back to the studio! Thank you so much for reading, and stay creative, everyone 🙂
