So far in my 3D Design class we have not been able to use color. We have worked with paper, plaster, cardboard, and masonite, but up until now we have not been allowed to paint or add color to our work in any way. For the final project though, we are finally free to play with color, and I am so excited that I plan to cover every inch of my piece in paint.
One of the challenges with this project is that it must move in some way, and models of it need to be made in order to plan it. I built my model out of cardboard and I plan for the finished piece to be made of masonite. My moving component will be a wheel that spins at the center of the sculpture. What I am most excited about is that after I cut all of the pieces I plan to paint all of them in different brightly colored patterns.
