Student Spotlight: Gianna Fazio

Year Graduating: Class of 2022

Major: Graphic Design

Minor: Planning on declaring a Minor in Illustration in the next year

I am majoring in Art because: I’ve always found myself to be a creative individual and I felt the only way to express myself in a career would be going down the art path.

The kinds of things that inspire me are: old video games, the cartoons, the people who encourage me, and my pets. I do a lot of work of my pets in cartoon form.

My favorite class so far: was 2D Design, I learned to give depth to my pieces while using pen and ink, it gave me that motivation I needed to keep practicing with ink each day.

When I’m not in class: I’m always trying to stay active during the day going on walks, and playing video games by night.

The coolest thing I’ve done was: apply for my current job at Ross Plants and Flowers where I can stay physically active and be around beautiful flowers all day long.

When I graduate: I plan to look into becoming a Video Game Designer.

I’d recommend the Art program at Marywood because: I get the one-on-one opportunities with my teachers that I’ve never had before, and I can rely on my teachers to give me the criticism I need to hear.

My favorite medium: is pen and ink on top of watercolor.
