First Friday is an event that happens every first Friday of the month. Art galleries, music, and dancing all go on in the city of Scranton.
This Friday May 1st was a special one for the Zeta Omicron members of Marywood University. One of our bloggers, Emma Pilon, brought up the idea of having an Empty Bowl event where the members of Zeta would help make ceramic bowls to sell and the money received would go to the Meals on Wheels Foundation. Plus with the purchase of a bowl you got a free scoop of ice cream. The bowls were displayed at First Friday and it was a huge success! The club made 200 bowls and within just about 2 hours they were all sold out!
Marywood University Architecture and Interior Architecture students who are juniors had a show as well. The architecture students built what would be temporary relief shelters, and the interior architecture students made chairs along with side tables. Both of these were very interesting to see. I love looking at different architectural structures that are built by the students. I’m always really impressed and they did a great job with the outcome!
