Summer has hit, which means it’s officially flea market season! While some people may roll their eyes at the idea of a flea market, and others go just to waste some time, it can truly be a magical place for the artist. It is one of the most fascinating gatherings that one can visit when you truly look at what is set out for others to see and possibly buy.

Two items from the Flea Market
I went to one such market that happens weekly near my home, just to wander around and see what was there, but I found so much more than I thought I would. Inspiration abound as I found interesting sculptures, a book of vintage items and home made earrings. But what I found to be the most fascinating was a box of old fashioned keys and what seemed to be a part of door handles. I bought a handful of each, simply due to the fact that they could be made into so many things, and I am more than excited to settle down and get to work on them later this summer.

The boxes I picked from
While a flea market isn’t the most fabulous place to go shopping it is a cheap one (I spent $6 and I also got a few knickknacks for the house!) that has endless possibilities! So get out there and see what you can find! It’s always worth a shot.
