With the warmer weather, I am spending more time fly fishing. Opening day is nearing and the trout season will be booming. In anticipation, I was inspired and decided to draw in a more abstract style.

Using colored pencils, I was able to create a unique and eye-catching color palette. The line work is also something that I am pleased with. After I had finished my first piece I put it aside… it was missing something. I thought about it and ended up coloring a thick outline around the figure and it worked out great. I was referencing my own photographs and vintage magazine photos from the 60s.
