Photographing Jewelry

Hello everyone! This week has been hectic for me so I wasn’t able to work on my photograph restoration project like I had hoped to. Since I wasn’t able to work on that project, I’ve decided to share my jewelry photography from my advertising and illustrative photography class.

My professor had a few requirements for photographing this project. We had to make sure 1) the chain was aligned like it was when worn, 2) the color of the jewelry appeared to be the true color, and 3) that the lighting was complementary to the piece of jewelry.

For this project I asked my grandpa for a piece of his mother’s jewelry. He pulled out a few pieces and I decided on a necklace that she wore everyday.

I decided to place the necklace on a rock so I could lay the necklace like it would lay on a person’s neck instead of laying in flat on a table. What do you think?

That’s all for this week. Hopefully next week will be more hectic and I can post the completion of my photo restoration project.

I’ll talk to you all next week! Stay Safe!
