As the winter break comes to an end, the articles about Art Therapy and all the help it can provide will be coming back soon! But as I come to my last days being home, it only feels right to talk about my favorite thing about being home… The Philadelphia Eagles.
I’m 20 years old and I think I’ve known the Eagles Fight Song since I was maybe 2 years old. The Philadelphia Eagles have grown into such a big part of my family’s life. My dad grew up going to Eagles games and grew up with the strong love of “bleeding green,” so now he has been a season ticket holder for 50 years. But he is not the only one. My dad, a few of my uncles, my sisters, family friends, all attend these games. We are known as die hard fans. Over the winter break, I had the pleasure of going to 2 of the games. With this given background information, it is obvious how dedicated we are.
Being an Eagles fan along with some other teams, you go through a lot of ups and downs, it’s definitely not always easy supporting a team that’s not really known to be a star team. That does not stop us. And I think that is what makes my family so awesome, along with other reasons. The thrill of going to a game and seeing a touchdown, the thrill of watching at home on TV, the thrill of hearing all the theories of winning the next game, the thrill of witnessing the strong faith the Philadelphians have for their team, the thrill of watching the city light up in green, the thrill of being an Eagles fan… I think that is my favorite part about being home for break. Knowing that it most definitely will not be boring, these Eagles make being home more special than I ever could imagine.
