Graffiti Highway

This past weekend I took a trip to a hometown tourist spot. Years ago Old 61 ran through Centralia, PA. This town has been abandoned due to fire burning under the town in local coal mines. The fire has been burning for years. Since then they built a new road for 61 and the abandoned highway became “graffiti highway.”

If you’re in the area it’s definitely a fun pit stop. It’s a great spot for quads, dirt bikes and a can of spray paint. This road gets a lot of attention because of the graffiti. I always love taking a trip up every once in awhile because it’s always changing with new typographic quotes and cute illustrations. I love seeing new and cool things.

Here are some neat things I saw when I just visited!

Graffiti art is something often frowned upon but I love it. It’s always something new and fun colors. Heading out there was a fun trip and I can’t wait to do it again! Maybe next time with a can of spray paint to leave my mark.
