Even though my major is illustration and I’ll be posting about that a lot, I’ve really come to enjoy photography and I figured I can write about that now for my first post. Months ago for Christmas, I received a nicer camera and I was really surprised when I opened it up that morning because I did not think I was getting it at all. I almost felt like my 5 year old self again because I was that excited. For some time I didn’t really get much use out of my new camera though. The spring semester had begun and before I knew it I was busy with art projects and other school work. Nonetheless, over Spring break a few weeks ago, I brought my camera home with me and I’m glad I did.
I’m from a small town in the Catskill Mountains of Upstate New York so there is a lot to take pictures of between all of the mountains, forests, grassy fields, and rivers. For a couple days over the break, the weather reached up to almost 70 degrees and with the weather so beautiful I figured one day it would be perfect to go out on a walk and take my camera with me. I live on the outskirts of town and alongside the road there are trees and a river that runs along. I took my dog with me and we walked about a mile and a half altogether. I was so glad I took my camera because I got some really great shots. The sun was shining out so the lighting was perfect and the sky was a vibrant blue which definitely made for some good photos. Not only did I capture some great shots, but on the walk I also remembered how much fun I used to have taking pictures. I’ll definitely be putting my camera to more use from now on!
Beautiful! Light, one of the most important aspects of photography! Keep shooting, everyday!
Thanks so much! I will definitely keep shooting! 🙂
