Illustrating an Art Movement

Hello, I cannot believe I am already more than halfway through my third Fall semester! I am a 3rd year Illustration major. I go to Marywood University, and study in the Marywood University Art Department.

Anyways, I just concluded with my second project for my Advance Drawing Class.

Project Specifications:

We had to research an art movement of our choice. Once we completed our research; we were assigned with the task to illustrate a piece based on the specific art movement.

As for me, I chose to research the POP ART, Art Movement.

POP ART:

  • Vibrant, saturated colors,
  • Often pieces are outlined in black,
  • Features popular products or figures from American culture.
  • Loud all capitalized words and typefaces.

My Piece:

Inspired by Andy Warhol and his famous Shot Marilyns piece. I illustrated one of my Halloween animatronics in a similar manner.

Shot Wackymoles:

  • Acrylic paint, chalk pastel, and brush pen on black paper.

WRAP UP

Overall, this project was an insightful experience on the history of art. Furthermore, I loved experimenting and stepping outside of my comfort zone.

  • Stay Spooky, Santo 🎃
