Europe Rant
I don’t think Italians do any thing before 1pm in the afternoon. I am an early riser and like to get stuff done in the morning. Even our school on weekends does not open till 1pm. I love to use that early morning time when I am fresh to get work done. I miss Marywood with 24-hour access to my home in the darkroom. The only place open in the morning in Florence is the little Milkeria (Ice cream shop) place I go to. They know me well there. I don’t even have to say anything. I did a test the other day to see if I could not say one word at all and see what happened. I walked in and the few workers I know all waved and said ciao to me, of course I nodded and went and sat down. Sure enough they brought my Cappuccino the way I like it with sugar substitute already mixed in, and in a to-go cup. Mission accomplished. I have a few places that I frequent and have really gotten to know some of the locals. It is funny when I go with my friends to some of these places and I get bigger portions or special treatment and they get jealous. “It is good to be the King.”
I went to Pisa again, but this time I went to where the river Arno ends and spills into the ocean. I took my friend Kristen, an Art therapy major and one of my favorite models. And we enjoyed the beautiful clear waters and bright sunshine. Yes spring is here, and in another week I expect everything to be blooming!

Digital Multimedia
I took my audio project of a specific place and recorded the sounds of that area. Of course me always being crazy and taking things a different way, I kind of made it into more of a musical score than just recordings. Let’s hope I don’t get too yelled at for being different.
Video
I mentioned in my last post that we are doing a documentary, and I am counting every minute till this class is done. I cannot sit there and just plan, plan, and plan; I need to be shooting.
Art History
More lecture, this time we are learning about northern artists like Rembrandt, so this is exciting for me. But our teacher has a soothing British accent, and I am afraid I will fall asleep. It is not that I am tired, it is hypnotic and I fight that loosing battle every class.
