Last weekend I had the opportunity to photograph another Peach Polaroid gig. I was very excited to photograph this show because they were playing on a stage. This was my first time photographing a band on a stage so I was amped to explore different perspectives. The lighting was a lot better to work with than the last time I photographed the band. With the groovy lights, energetic songs, and misty fog, it was the perfect setting. I love taking concert photography because I get to capture energetic moments and listen to great music.

As a photography major, I wanted to play around with both color and black & white with these photos. I color graded the photos and had a lot of fun playing around with it. I want to get better at editing and playing around with a more artistic side. When I edit my photos I mainly use Lightroom Classic so I have a pretty good understanding of it, but there is still so much to learn with it. Playing around with color grading helped get me out of my comfort zone and to just have fun when I was editing. I have been doing a lot of photojournalism for The Wood Word so I have to stick to a strict editing style when it comes to producing images for that outlet.
Motion Blur

For these photos, I wanted to play around more with Photoshop since I feel that I don’t have many opportunities to use it that often. Again I wanted to play around with Photoshop and be more artistic. To make these images, I first selected the subject and then cut it out. I then duplicated the layer and then selected the filter and clicked on motion blur. Next, I turn the image into a layer mask and erase using the paintbrush tool to remove the blur on the subject.
