I picked sculpture as my major because I have a focus in jewelry. Well this fall semester I’m taking a jewelry I class and I’m so excited. I’ve already started learning some basic jewelry making skills. So far I don’t have anything to show but I’m hoping to have my project completed by the end of this week. Right now the project I’ve been working on involves pressing and soldering hollow metal forms together.
I have all of the pieces pressed and cut. All I have to do is finish soldering them together and making links for the chain. Soldering and assembling the necklace is probably the most time consuming because of all the pieces. This project took up the whole first half of the semester, mostly because I was learning the basics. I’m hoping this piece turns out the way I envision it and I can’t wait to share the finished product!
