Metamorphosis

In Sculpture II I had an installation piece just installed. I called it Metamorphosis because the butterflies represent us as students in college becoming adults and growing into our careers. I made origami butterflies out of different sizes of white paper. The white paper represents a clean canvas for anyone to draw on the butterflies. Part of the project is to take pictures of the installation everyday to see how it changes over time.

It has only been a week and so far so good. They are still up and a few have been decorated beautifully. The installation piece is located in the Insalaco Studio Art building in the main lobby which is a high traffic area for students. Hopefully by the end of this week the butterflies will be completely drawn on. So for any Marywood students interested, it would mean a lot if you can stop by and decorate one! Next week I plan to show how the piece turned out.
