Since the first round of glass casting of this semester was successful, we will be doing a second casting. My first casting was a glass eye, this time I will be making a glass brain inspired by an article I read from National Geographic. The article described the findings of glass brain matter from a victim of Mount Vesuvius.

Since the eye was successful in both glass and iron, I started making some more of them too. I made a small iron brain last year, but for the glass I am aiming to make it more anatomically accurate.

I found a handy 3-D brain model to help me sculpt my little wax brain. I still have a long way to go before its finished, but I will pick it back up after spring break!
