Hi everyone! I’ve been dying to write to you all because I have had a fantastic couple of weeks in the studio! Last week, I told you all about how my classes were going, and I showed some sketches of ceramics ideas. Well, I haven’t acted on many of those ideas yet. But I’ve been on the wheel practicing, practicing, practicing, and it has definitely paid off. I’ll talk about that more in a bit.
Another thing I’m super excited to show you all is some amazing photos my friend and fellow WCW Blogger, Marissa Nowak, took in the ceramics studio. She asked if she could take some pictures of me throwing on the wheel for her photography project, and I obviously said yes! The pictures turned out amazing! She hasn’t edited them yet, but once she does, they will definitely be going up on my Instagram page! If you want to see them, you can view them on my page, @jennaking05_art, and I’ll also tag Marissa’s art account there. I’ll give you all a sneak peek of one of my favorites, but you’ll have to stick around for the reveal!

Now, my favorite part about these photos is that the pot you can see me making is the biggest pot I’ve made to date. I forgot to measure it, but I’ll show you my shelf of everything I’ve made so far, and then the vase in the middle, and I don’t think you’ll have a problem deciphering which one it is. I’m glad Marissa was able to capture this for me because I’m feeling so proud and so relieved that all of the time I’ve been putting into practicing my throwing skills is paying off. For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been really zoning in on my process and figuring out what’s working and what’s not. It’s nice to see the small changes I’ve been making develop into physical results. A HUGE thank you to Marissa for the documentation!

Well, I hope you enjoyed, and I hope you’re even a little bit as excited as I am about Marissa’s photos! I look forward to keeping you all updated. Hopefully I’ll be cooking up some glaze ideas soon AND working on my sketches. I’ll talk to you all soon! Stay creative 🙂
