This past Friday was an awesome night for old and new Zeta members alike! It is one night of the semester where Zeta Omicron (Art Honor Society) members have a night just for themselves to celebrate the joining of new members! Every year we have an induction night theme and this year the club voted on “A Night in Outdoor Paris.” Thanks to some great members who make up this year’s induction committee, the second floor of the art building was decked out.

There was everything Paris! We made a giant black paper silhouette of the Eiffel tower along with a red carpet to lead you through it. On the ceiling we made our own DIY hula hoop Christmas light chandelier. One of our members printed out pictures from her trip to France to hang classically on twine rope with clothes line pins. We even had a photo booth with props that ranged from fancy mustaches to snails to go with our french theme. One of the most creative ideas we had for the night was a station where members could write their name and another member’s name on a paper lock and tape it onto our “Paris Lock Bridge” based on the iconic attraction that has brought many Pintresters and Instagramers to Paris.

The night included lots of socializing, refreshments, and most importantly rituals to initiate new members into the Zeta Omicron chapter of Kappa Pi. The evening was great and everyone came dressed to impress. It is evenings like this where I am glad to be part of a club that comes together to welcome one another into it and continue good relationships with the other members. It was truly a night remember!
