Recently I have found myself being quietly obsessed with interesting things that pop up around me. I keep snapping pictures of cool color combinations, patterns and, most of all, textures. I don’t know why all of a sudden I am being so much more observant; maybe it has to do with the calmness of Summer. The warm breeze, hot sun, and relaxing vibes. During the school year my life is constantly me just running from one place to the next and fitting in whatever I can in between destinations. Now I get to kind of step back and take notice. It’s been pretty cool to look through the photos I’ve taken. They all inspire me in different ways and they are all things people look at all the time but they don’t take the time to really see them.

I think this whole mini artistic venture has taught me to really take a deep breath, step back and see; and I mean really see. See the intricacy in the little things around you. Take a moment to appreciate the beauty of color or the unbelievable patterns created in nature. Inspiration is really everywhere and in almost everything. It just takes that extra glance to find it. These little experiences can lead to something as simple as a smile or something as big as your next great masterpiece. All we need to do is open our eyes and see.
