Murals are an interesting art form, often larger than life and painted on walls. They’re so popular that there is a tour set up to go see some of the largest murals in Philadelphia.

They are oftentimes commentaries on the society around the location where they are painted, in center city there are multiple pieces that show the suffering of the minorities. It’s something that touches the heart of everyone who views them.

It just shows that art is a large part of every community, having paid for some murals to be made, the city embraces it and wants it to be seen and read as a message. Some companies, schools, or residences even get the sides of their buildings painted, sometimes for no other reason than for it to look nice.

So it is a personal goal of mine to take the walking mural tour of Philadelphia and to see if there are any offered in any other city.
