Update on some of my recent paper paintings from this week..

I am exploring some ideas that have been on my mind over Christmas break. I enjoy working on paper because the texture of the paper I am using is much smoother than canvas. I try to work on three or more paintings at a time so that all of my focus is not on trying to make one painting perfect. I go through ideas quickly when I’m painting and sometimes my decisions lead me to a stopping point and that’s when I’ll start another painting. Some of these are better than others but with each painting I always discovering something new.

All of these paintings are acrylic and oil pastel on 20 x 17 paper. I recently just started another one that’s much larger with some collage elements that I am excited about too!
