So I have been working on some projects in my ceramics class and I think I want to work more along the lines of production rather than decorative pieces. So I threw 4 plates so far and they definitely were simple.
I didn’t know what I wanted to do as far as color or if I wanted to add something to them. Today, I went onto Pinterest and found some handmade plates that just have the rim decorated.
So I decided to give it a try and I am putting the plate I did under my Pinterest fail category haha. I absolutely loved how it looked when someone else did it because they could do it absolutely perfect…then I tried. I am starting to appreciate it especially because it will mostly likely look better when it is glazed. I think I was only disappointed because I knew what I wanted, had a vision, and did not get that outcome. Oh well all I can do it keep trying and just go with the flow.
It is 100% not perfect, but maybe that works in this situation because it definitely had a handmade quality to it. I’m just going to do it to the rest of my plates, cross my fingers, and hope for the best!
