Welcome back! I hope everyone had a great first week of school. As a senior photography major, this was my last first day of school, so it felt bittersweet. I have finally received my film scans from this summer. This was my first time shooting with color film, and I was happy with the results. I sent my film to The Photo Lounge in Philadelphia, PA for development and they did an amazing job. Here is a sneak peek of what I photographed this summer.

When I photographed these scenes, I only had my film camera with me because I wanted to push myself to only use film. I felt that with film, I would take my time taking photos. With digital cameras, shooting photos is quick and fast-paced.

I love how muted yet nostalgic these film colors are. I usually am not a fan of noise, but grain in film makes it seem more natural. There is something so comforting about film, and I hope to continue with it in the future.
