Hello everyone!
This past week a friend of mine let me know that his coffee shop will be having an art fair. I’m really excited because I’ve never let myself participate in one before. I’ve always thought I wasn’t one for them, but since this Summer has been about self exploration and trying things, and allowing myself to fail, I’ve decided to go ahead and give it a shot!
I’m really excited for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I’ve always attended “cons” and looked at artist alleys and artists who sell their stuff, and wanted to have my own little table. I always thought it would be awesome to use my previous experience in sales to make stuff for others to be able to take home with them. Secondly, I think it would be great experience to jump into larger things, such as the Lackawanna Arts Fest that is on the square every year. That’s a lot of fun, and I think it’d be really cool to participate some day.
For now, I’m working on creating a few new print ideas, as well as small paintings. I’ve stocked up on a few small canvases for the occasion, as well as set up some pictures of previous paintings I’ve done, so that I can print them out and sell those. I’ve already taken some high quality pictures and edited them down so that I could have maybe postcard sized prints of them. I chose to use a few of the ones that were popular from my mini show at the local Starbucks. Two of them are below!
On top of that, I’ve talked to a lot of my teachers, and friends, and so many people were experienced with fairs of these types. Though I was anxious at first, I’m really excited now because I’ve gotten a lot of good advice!
Until next week guys, take care!
