Quick Update

I’ve had a lot going on this past week, as is to be expected at this time of year. When you think about it, the semester is almost over! With that comes the realization that I only have one semester left of graduate school- and then I’m out in the real world once again. Time really speeds up when you start panicking, doesn’t it?

Anyways, here’s some quick updates on how my studio practice has been going:

Some of my individual sculpture works are starting to come together. My experiments with my new materials, glass and porcelain, are working out nicely. I actually got a chance to sit down and draw out some plans for new pieces, which I usually never do but feel is becoming necessary as I’m figuring out installation options. There are setbacks as well- for one, jewelry making takes way longer than most people realize, and sometimes it feels like nothing gets accomplished in one studio day per week- but I’m slowly pushing forward with those projects. Sometimes I wish I had a week uninterrupted to be in the studio without any other commitments: perhaps a productive winter break is just what I need.
