Hello! I hope you all have been able to stay cool during this heatwave. As I sweat profusely throughout the week, I’ve been re-designing and developing my comic idea even further!
Pierrot: A humanoid Spotted Seal!
I do not have any finished illustrations of them and their design because elements still need to be figured out, such as parts of their personality, interests, color palette, and how I can further incorporate elements of seals into the design.
But I plan for Pierrot to have a surfer aesthetic and match the aquatic-human coastal town vibe of the comic. They’re an artist as well and aren’t good with people. This becomes a problem when they move to a new place (Mossdriff) in a small comic I want to make before the main one. Like a practice comic where I can flesh out the world and stuff, it’ll also take place in the town called Anchorpoint. I might make Anchorpoint the new working title of my comic, but that might change as well.

They originally were going to be human, but when I redid the comic’s plot I decided it would be better if they were an aquatic humanoid like the rest of the town. The colors should be similar to the original version because there are parts I wanted to keep (such as the ‘locs, the tired eyes, and comfy clothes).
All of this is subject to change but I like what I’ve developed so far! I know this post was short but I’ve been doing more writing than drawing this week. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this mini ramble about my comic and its characters! I’ll see you again soon!

Have some older (top post-it) and younger (bottom post-it) sketches of Pierrot and a quick sketch of them painting a sign right photo!
Sephora, out! <3
